Dreams From My Father
When I read President Barak Obama’s book “DREAMS FROM MY FATHER”. I immediately saw the similarities I shared with him because I also inherited an ambitious dream from my father. A dream that many men will dismiss as delusions of grandeur. For a variety of reasons, my father was unable to attain the heights his intelligence clearly merited. As I grew older, he began to see himself in me, and in many ways I got my first inheritance.
He had a master plan drawn up. I crumbled under the pressure of expectation and ran away from it all. They say ” One often meets his destiny on the path he takes to avoid it. ”
The older I grew and the harder life unfolded itself to me, the more I found myself returning to the dream and the master plan becoming clearer.
As a man myself, I have since reviewed, revamped, and revised my father’s dream. He equipped me with the tools necessary to successfully execute this plan.
Today, I excel under pressure and I embrace the weight of any expectation. The mantle I carry today is the shared dream of two men. Even if the heavens fall, the task of bringing this vision to life is a journey I am working hard to make a reality.
